Bunny Book Club: Winter Book List

November 9, 2024 by sdurbin Leave a Comment

A shift is happening to bring us into winter days, those especially filled with books! Seasons are important to our family, and we try to make things different enough in all areas so that we feel the reprieve and newness of change.

For winter, there is a significant change in our evenings. As daylight savings begins, we stay out till sunset and eat dinner earlier. We do things like:

  • Light a candle at dinner
  • Start a gratitude chain, writing our blessings on a link of paper with supper
  • Bring a craft table into the living room
  • Have a set movie night weekly
  • Games, crafts or puzzles after dinner together
  • Outside walk with flashlights after dinner

Cozy & Crafty

Mom’s favorite part of winter is the permission to craft. Much of spring is prepping for the garden, and cleaning up after mud. Much of summer is tending the garden, and long days processing harvest. Fall prepares for the holidays. But winter is for projects! This winter, I am putting my hand to sewing clothes. I started with a costume dress to really challenge myself. Now, simple play dresses seem easy and will come in handy for little ones who outgrow everything quickly. More on this later, I’m sure!

Sometimes it is as simple as propagation, sometimes it is complex. But it makes the season unique!
